The Number One overall pick in the 2009 MLB First-Year Player Draft, Strasburg attended San Diego State. It has yet to be decided where Strasburg will make his professional debut; whether it will be with a Nationals Minor League affiliate or once rosters expand on September 1 with the Nationals in DC.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;">The Washington Nationals have selected right-handed pitcher Drew Storen from the University of Stanford with the 10<sup>th</sup> overall pick.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Storen stands at 6-2 and 175 pounds.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Storen, a reliever for Stanford, has a quality fastball in the 90-94 MPH range.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Storen also has a snapping curveball in his arsenal and also a changeup that he uses sparingly.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>With a clean slate of health, Storen has tremendous poise on the mound as he is known to attack hitters early in the count.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>His control is sometimes hit or miss but does have the goods to be a pitcher in the bigs.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>While it is not known whether he will make the transition to a starting role, Storen can molded in the minors into what the Nationals would like him to be.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Storen was originally drafted by the New York Yankees back in 2007 as they selected him with the 34<sup>th</sup>overall pick, however, Storen elected not to sign a contract.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Currently the Washing Nationals sit at 15-40 and are 18 games back of the 1<sup>st</sup>place Philadelphia Phillies.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Last year, the Nationals selected RHP Aaron Crow with the 9<sup>th</sup> overall selection.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>However, Crow opted not to sign a major league contract with Washington.</span></p>
